About the Presentation

The International TPM Institute, Inc., in collaboration with SMRP, presents: TPM- A Cost Effective Tool for Equipment Maintenance Webinar. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) permanently improves the overall effectiveness of equipment, with the involvement of operators. The cost of maintenance, for the most part, is never viewed as an effective cost control tool; rather, it is viewed as a necessary expense. The techniques outlined in Hartmann’s book, “Successfully Installing TPM in a Non-Japanese Plant,” will have a positive impact on any organization’s maintenance department. When implemented as a complete program, along with a change in the maintenance culture, it improves equipment performance, increases productive output by reducing unplanned downtime, improves quality and is the key ingredient for LEAN implementation, Total Productive Equipment Management (TPEM®) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RcM). As a package, TPM and its integral parts are effective in reducing and controlling both short and long term costs for maintenance.

“Thanks to a customized installation with International TPM Institute, we had a 70% increase in productivity and our plant did not have to close down…”
